The Eucharist Paintings

A combination of the COVID lockdown and cancer meant that I could no longer share the Eucharist at the altar with others. The sense of loss was great – I needed some way to redress the loss and engage with the Eucharist once more and so began a sequence of paintings.

They became meditations and felt like unspoken prayers. I anticipated about half a dozen paintings, but to date there are well over twenty, and I’m not sure whether the seam is yet worked out!
