Explore the Abbey
Our guided tours offer a fascinating insight into the history and life of Sherborne Abbey. Led by experienced and friendly guides, each tour brings the building to life, from its architectural features to the stories that have shaped it over centuries.
Tours are free of charge and there is no need to book — simply come along and join us.
Tours typically last between 45 minutes and one hour.
2026 Tour Times
Spring to Autumn (April to October)
- Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10.30 am
(2nd April – 29th October) - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 2.00 pm
(1st April – 30th October)
Additional Summer Weekend Tours
- Saturdays at 10.30 am
- Sundays at 2.15 pm
(4th July – 27th September)
On Arrival
Tours begin from the Abbey porch. A guide will be there to welcome you.
Things to Know
- Tours may occasionally be affected by services or special events
- We recommend checking ahead if you are travelling a long distance
- Visitors are welcome to explore the Abbey independently outside of tour times
Group and Bespoke Tours
We are happy to arrange tours for groups and special visits, including during the winter months (November to March). Please contact the Parish Office in advance to discuss availability and suitable times.
