The snowdrop is a symbol of hope after a long cold winter and many people who attend gain comfort from knowing that others are going through a similar journey. Members of staff from each organisation will take part in the service which will be followed by refreshments. The Snowdrop Service is hosted by Sherborne Churches Together and will be held  at 11.30 am at Cheap Street Church, Sherborne DT9 3BJ. Church & State

We are delighted to welcome Bishop Richard Chartres, for many years Bishop of London, a Lord Spiritual and now sitting as a life peer in the House of Lords. As Bishop of London Lord Chartres was at the heart of the establishment for many years. Few are better placed to explore the tensions inherent in the union of temporal and spiritual authority.

The relationship between the Church and the State has been problematic for most of the last 2,000 years. Emperors of Rome, Kings of England and, most recently the President of Russia have all sought alliances with the Church.

Do join us as we explore the relationship between the Church and State in the third millennium.  Digby Memorial church Hall, Digby Road. 7.30 pm
