The Salamanca Band of the Rifles will be performing a Christmas themed lunchtime recital in Sherborne Abbey on Wednesday, 15 December 2021.

The Salamanca Band are one of three bands in the Rifles and the only Army band based in the South West.  The Director of Music, Captain Lee Clayson, commented ‘this is a rare occasion to see the band in concert and in The Abbey which also celebrates our affiliated county Regiments and military history – it almost feels like one of our home venues! We are very much looking forward to performing to the people of Sherborne and with such an iconic backdrop it certainly isn’t something to be missed!’

The programme of music will be light and feature a number of talented soloists from within the band.

The programme will commence at 1.30 pm and will follow with the band playing some carols on The Parade at 3.00 pm.
